Design Process

Our approach involved interviewing professional car painters from a wide range of backgrounds to gather impressions of competitor spray guns and inquiring on the their day-to-day process. Problem areas were identified through practice and observation, and design concepts were distilled from user feedback.
The design of the spray gun was centered on creating strong, elegant surfacing that highlighted the product’s purpose. Ergonomics had to be strictly retained to feel familiar in the user’s hands while setting indicators were visually improved with unique textures and communicative graphic applications.
